Garden 2012

Okay so I didn't fulfill the whole picture a day thing.....I had good reasons....But I'm back to share a few picture from time to time.

Last year we had a tiny that consisted of 2 tomato plants...this year...we have lost our minds!

Week 1: Started with 4 pretty nice sized beds...I was feeling like I would try to over come my black thumb.
We filled the beds with (then) tomatoes, peppers, lettuce, mixed greens lettuce, dill, basil, oregano, eggplant, carrots, onions, squash, cucumber, and okra.

Week 3: Then we decided to add 4 more beds......I can't remember the reasoning to why we should.

This was from last week....Not sure how many weeks we are into now but there is GROWTH! Added Watermelon, Cantaloupe, collards, Zucchini and Persimmon.

Today we added a much larger bed to our collection and moved and added more veggies! We have added strawberry (in the bucket), a while bed of lettuces, moved the okra, added sweet potato, radishes, white bell squash, corn, sunflowers, 2 types of peas, and garlic. We have only lost the onions and carrots so far!
This is the new 11x11 bed. Hubby tilled it all by hand and we weeded and planted it in the rain today. Memories!

We will be prepping the greenhouse (our covered shed) again with a better roof and we have started a compost bin and rain collection unit.....yep we have lost our minds!!!!

Our First Family Vacation!!!!!

July marked a few achievements in our family....
Ronnie has been smoke free for 500+ days now, He started jogging daily and we went on our FIRST FAMILY VACATION!!!!

We went to the "Cabin"!!! Here are some pictures from our trip!

It was an eventful 3 days with 3 mice, 1 snake, 2 brim, 3 catfish, 1 bat, 2 birds, 2 baby vultures and tons of bears and reptiles at the museum.

This is us at Minniehaha Falls were we were married almost 6 years ago. It was also the first time Ronnie has been back since that day.

Jocie is always willing to pose for the camera!
We enjoyed a few hours in Helen, GA. We walked around and took the kids to the Bear Museum! The kids are showing off their pressed pennies!
There were a lot of bears at the Bear Museum as well as a reptile and snake area. The kids got to feed the bears and some of them would "perform" for their snacks!

We got a kick out of this Yoga Bear!!

View from the top of the boat house.....

        Paradise!!!!
 Hello Mr Bat!
Look!!! Proof that Ronnie got in the Lake!!!
We took a walk up the mountain behind the Cabin in the Nachoochee  National Forest. I wanted to show Ronnie the big Rock Cliff but we found more than we bargined for. There were 2 baby turkey vultures in a nest. They both were huge (maybe 20 pounds each) and thank goodness Motherless while we were there. They weren't exactly the cutest things in the world but it was cool to see nature in action.

It was only after the sun went down that we were able to catch some fish.....so we stayed up to catch a midnight snack! Photo by Jocie

I couldn't keep her out of the lake!

The kids enjoying the shower....if you have never showered in nature then you just haven't lived!!!

Ronnie on the way to the shower....he was not wanting to leave.
We took a quick trip to Mark of the Potter. From their back porch is a beautiful river and tons of the largest troat you have ever seen.
We treated our selves to lunch at the Batesville General Store Restaurant.
We went to the Falls twice.....its a fun walk to the get there and the kids loved to play 20 questions as we walked.
On the way home we stopped to show the kids Tallulah Gorge.
Oops....a little out of order but here is a picture we took off the bridge in Helen. We plan to tube "the hooch" on our next trip.

Barbie Beach

Here are some pictures of the "fine art" on display in Turin, GA. The theme changes once or twice a month, depending on the holiday and national news. This time it was the Royal Wedding! Enjoy!

Easter and May 1

Spent Easter at the Lancaster's house for a Cookout and Egg Hunt. Here are all the cousins!

We found a large turtle on the road and brought him home. He was the fastest moving turtle we have ever seen!

This is Dylan at the beginning and towards the end of Kindergarten......Looks like he is growing in to his ears!!

End of April 2011

Kelley, Randi's dance/school friend had a fun baby shower in prep for her daughter to arrive soon! In the picture is Her mom, grandmother, Kelley and her mother in law.

This is from a book...thought it looked just like Jocie and Dylan and very much their personalities!!

Summer is coming fast....it wasn't 110 degrees outside but it was inside of the car I guess.

Kids and I decided to wash the cars. After a few minutes I noticed that Jocie had a different idea.....
